2010 Trip: London Day 4
15th June 2010
This morning I headed to South Kensington. I felt rather out of place. I saw Harrods, the V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum), and the Science Museum. Maybe it was just that I have been to these places before and almost nothing has changed. Oh, they are interesting sure. But it is just more of the same, especially after all of the museums I have seen recently. Maybe, I was just in a weird mood. Well whatever it was, I sauntered through these places, not really seeing all that much that interested me.
I grabbed some lunch and went walking (a favourite pastime) towards Waterloo station. I met up with Ben Low (an experienced UCanDance hand) here and we found our way to a little local pub frequented by antipodean types. We drank some of the local and chatted.
He is currently living in Guildford (where Ford Prefect is not from) and working for a company making various pieces of interesting medical equipment. The pub also turned out to be a Thai restaurant, so we had excellent curries. One slight downer for the evening occurred when Ben found a sharp sliver of glass in his food - we didn’t tip.
After this we took a walk along the Thames, down as fair as the Millennium Bridge and back. There was a beautiful sunset over the water and I amused myself taking photos. As it got later, Ben took a train home and I headed back to the hostel for my last night in London.
